BUILD WALLS. OPEN OPPORTUNITY.

The world still needs people who build real things with their bare hands.

People who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and use their ingenuity, their grit, their determination and a little elbow grease. People with an eye for detail who are committed to developing their craft until it becomes an art.

If you’re looking for a message on the wall to find a challenge like this, maybe the message is the wall itself. The world needs carpenters, tapers and plasterers. Every single building you see has walls and ceilings. That’s what we call job security. Honestly, wouldn’t you rather be the one who builds the sea of cubicles and tiny offices instead of the one who has to work inside them? You’ll get steady hours, good pay, and a feeling of pride at five o’clock when you look back at a room that’s fit and finished and not a seam is showing. We’re looking for people to help build this country.

Let us show you how building walls can actually open up lots of opportunity.

WHAT WE DO

The Minnesota Drywall and Plaster Association is the voice of Minnesota’s union-supported drywall and plaster contractors. We represent more than 30 member companies based in Minnesota who employ more than X carpenters, tapers and plasterers. These member companies perform work in Minnesota as well as surrounding states. These companies and their employees are building Minnesota. Their skilled craftsmanship is reflected in the walls that every Minnesota interacts with daily – walls and ceilings in our office buildings, schools, hospitals, stadiums, retail stores, government buildings, etc.

Our organization is an advocate for these member companies and their skilled professionals. We provide the following services:

  • Labor negotiations and relations;
  • Representing contractors in the development and implementation of industry training programs and employee benefit funds;
  • Monitoring government relations and disseminating information regarding the industry to members;
  • Serving as a voice for the drywall and plastering industry – to elected government officials, appointed government regulators and officials, and the news media;
  • Advocate for construction funding at the federal, state, county and municipal levels for projects to be built in Minnesota;
  • Help our members attract and retain skilled drywall carpenters, tapers and plasterers;
  • Serve as a bridge for our member companies with Minnesota’s construction trades, advocating for policies and issues where we all win together;
  • Help attract the next generation of drywall carpenters and plasters. We educate and inform young people, as well as their parents, teachers, and guidance counselors, about careers in drywall and plastering.
